Happy last day of June! :D

Yesterday my friends came over to swim! The weather has been good enough that it permitted me to swim TWO days in a row! Although yesterday was cloudy and it even rained some. Today, however, was hot, BUT I had to work. Just my luck! I've gotten a little more tan, which is good for my super white FEET! HAHA!

My puppy loves to catch water with her mouth, and can jump really high just to catch it!

haha, you can see the water going into her mouth!

my friends swishing water into her mouth ~ heheh. kawaii desu ne!?

Two of my friends discovered this amazing coffee house near our university! It's super cute inside. Their teas aren't very great... but their coffee is heavenly! I would go there just to hang out~ it's so cool inside!

this is the entrance! the barrels hold coffee beans and you can smell each one. I got the Hazelnut coffee! it was so rich in flavor and smelled soooo good.

the red drink was a pomegranate tea that ended up tasting like Robitussin cough syrup...it was gross!

Also lately I've been playing my piano. I used to love it so much, and ever since I started taking this Music Appreciation class for summer session, I've been wanting to play more and more. As of late, I am attempting to self-teach myself that one Romeo and Juliet song called A Time For Us, which is composed by Henry Mancini. You guys should really check out the song~ find it on YouTube! hhaa.

Lastly, I've been trying to take pictures of my outfits! So far I only have three -___-"

a skirt by Anthropologie, sandals from Gap, vintage silk french blouse

LEFT: summer dress from Forever21, Aldo sandals and a Frenchi cardigan. RIGHT: white cardigan from Banana Republic, black belt (has satin flowers on it, but you can't see it) from Forever21 and pastel paisley dress from Guess.

FRENCH MACARONS?
SUNDAY, JUNE 28TH, 2009

For the last couple of weeks, I've been craving french macarons! One of my friends made them, and they were sooo yummy! That inspired me to want to make my own! I did make my own with Nia and it seriously took us FOUR hours! It took the whole day -__-" because we didn't have all the right tools and we hadn't baked in a while.

OK! here is the end result:

so, they're not fluffy AT ALL :( but they did turn out to be yummy! The reason why they're not fluffy (we figured out) was because we didn't beat the egg whites long enough!

A great recipe website is from this AMAZING website: Tartlette. I am definitely going to make many more. This website is amazing, and she takes great photos too!

Here are some pictures from the process~

all in all, they turned out kinda bad (looks wise), but it was our fault, not the recipe's fault. We are definitely going to try it again! :D
