Into the City....       Saturday, December 27, 2008 -- i-ni

Went to Grandmama's apartment for some amazing eggrolls, to drop off her gifts of Banana Republic perfumes, then went into the city for some sights and to get a new phone, which isn't anything special other than the fact that it is perfectly functional rather than the deadbeat battery one I was toting around. Eri got the Envy2, which is a good name for it because, yesssss, I feel the envy !! But I understand that I have to withdraw my sighs because I got a supersonic camera rather than a phone. I'm just happy she's happy.
Photo Plug:

if I could marry eggrolls, I'd marry grandmama's

That drawing above there^^^ is of Kyle and me in Amsterdam, listening to [what else] Peter Bjorn and John's song named for the city.
Oh, and took these of Eri. What a chibi baby face punk ^____^

Deck the halls....       Thursday, December 25, 2008 -- ni-ni

Merry Christmas! This is a fairly late post. Sorry for not posting/publishing it on the right day !! Christmas was darling, lovely, beautiful, and very fun ^____^ Especially with Hannie and Eri.

Started off early, with the typical annual sneak-downstairs-for-my-stocking with Eri, grab Hannie's for her, hightail it back to Eri's room to marvel at the interior of the knitted things...which this year held some darling gourmet candies courtesy of Trader Joe's and girly things like hand cream and the works. ^_______^

The LOOT ^^ !! The usual clothing-ware, and then some goodies like a new Desktop setup !! My old computer is going to Microchip heaven, but I don't mind, the sleek black replacement makes me smile wider ^____^
And then the prize of them all, a new Nikon Coolpix 8.0 megapixel camera! Yay! I don't have to use my ghetto-cam being held together by a rubber band anymore......tee hee !!

The havoc wreckage of Christmas present opening is very apparent in the above picture. It looks like a war-torn country of red green and gold. *shudders* ....all in all, a good good Christmas. And to top it all off, I called my bestfriend Kyle last night for a quick "Merry Christmas!", but it ended up as usual, an hour-long conversation about life, music, and funny musings ^____^ He makes my heart tingle! But not romantically... I don't know if I could ever see him like that ^___^ He is simply just my deepest good friend. Besides, I'm hoping someone very dear to me lays claim on him soon.....*wink wink* you know who you are ^____^
Merry Christmas !!! And I'm sure Hannie will be posting later with her treasure stash ^____^

Crochet a beret.       Monday, December 22, 2008 -- ni-ni

I'm sorry I have not written in a week or that I haven't visited your blogs lately... I've been so busy with the Christmas season upon me!
Well I am currently on my Winter Break for two weeks and I am absolutely basking in delight that I have fourteen days of utter luxury to spend my time. Well, once I finish my AP Statistics take-home-test and finish studying for finals. Ugh. Such a downer. But other than that, I am perfectly content ^_____^

A huge sadness is that I won't see my darling Doris every day...here we are with our winter chill clothing on. I absolutely must invest in some knitted dresses. Speaking of knit things...I've recently learned how to crochet! My good friend Sammi Carr gave me a crochet needle as a Christmas gift and I haven't been able to put the darned [no pun intended!] thing down since!

A few new bundles of yarn I've recently bought ^^. One is a midnight blue, the other a mix of white/pastel pinks/baby blues, and the last a soft pink. I'm crocheting a scarf for my little cousin Danika. I think I'll put a pom-pom on each of the ends ^______^

I love what my darling little sister has done with these colored strings of lights. Although it's nothing altogether epiphanic, it's adorable all the same under her Beatles poster. ^______^ She's watching SOULEATER in the second shot...a reminder that I'm about 8 episodes late.

Hannie added ribbons and things to the tree....and look! A bundle of presents under there! I am proud to say that those presents are JUST from Hannie, Eri, and me. Mom & Chi-chi haven't even put theirs under there yet ^_____^
I'm wearing Eri's adorable red boots. They have white pom-poms on the side.

And the madness continues....       Sunday, December 14, 2008 -- ni-ni

Hello Hello! Well, goodnight really...it's 10 pm and I am very very tired...school tomorrow and I just want to tear my hair out...ugh. So terribly boring and it's the week before break.....

The dress I made for the chorus performance yesterday...Then I wore it to Kyle's house :) He had a Christmas party !! It was very fun... I got picked up on a golf cart from the country club where the chorus performance was :) There were like, 8 people hanging on it and it was so noisy! But a good noisy :) We watched I Am Legend and it was so scary! I hate scary movies with a passion...I become paranoid...
Anyway, it was nice just to be at Kyle's house...I hadn't been in forever yet it felt so nostalgic and so comfortable...he played piano for me and I loved it! He's so amazing. Yup, definitely my soulmate.

^^ Did the annual banister wrapping with the red ribbon tonight :) And I bought some new wrapping paper!! It'll be the official "it's-from-nia" wrapping paper this year... it's a metallic red with a velvet design on it :) I'm thinking gold or silver ribbon.......hrmmm....
And last but not least, I cannot forget the tree! Yes! We got a fake tree this year...which reminds me....I need to pick up some evergreen and spice spritzer to make it feel like it's a real tree....[how sad!] But I am perfectly happy with it :) It's a 9-footer and I guess this year our theme is golds, whites, and reds.

We also have some new accents on it...Gilded-leaf garlands and candycane orbs :) So pretty and sparkly! Hee hee you can see me taking the picture in the ornament reflection

Photo Roll       Friday, December 12, 2008 -- ni-ni

No school today...apparently football is so incredibly important that it deserves an entire day off from school dedicated to it... [our boys are going to the stadium to play for CIFs]. Don't get me wrong, I love football with all my heart and I love having a day off from school, but I still have some bitter feelings after the sport got so much recognition, not to mention $$$$, yet my beloved newspaper class was vetoed. Poor baby.

This was yesterday morning in the quad, where they were giving out free donuts and Tang. Weird mix! They were trying to raise school spirit... but everyone was just in it for the food.

I won "Most Artistic" in the yearbook! I was really happy I got that one. I was also nominated for "Biggest Shopaholic", but I actually don't really shop all that much anymore...so I thought I didn't really deserve that one. I lost to another girl by 2 votes anyways...
And speaking of art, some random doodles that were lying around my desk:

And Daddy discovered Hannie's nintendo DS....funniest thing :)

Well tomorrow = chorus performances and then Kyle's Christmas party at night....Let's hope I'm not too tired to function. I still need to finish Christmas shopping too...ughhh.

i HATE FINALS!!       Thursday, December 11, 2008 -- hannie

ohmygosh i haven't updated/blogged in almost 3 weeeks! i have been uber uber busy with school and work and also my digital camera broke, which makes me not want to blog because i can't post up pictures

This week has been pretty brutal -- i have had a Final everyday of this week! friday (TOMORROW!!!!) is my last final, and it's Japanese...and i haven't started studying for that yet! But after friday, i don't have to deal with bratty people, driving to school at 7AM, deal with traffic, and stressss out about grades for 1.5 months!! i just want this semester to be over with....and that brings me ONE SEMESTER CLOSER TO JAPAN!! gahh!! this time next year i will be in Japan, probably homesick, but in Japan nonetheless!!!

this picture is the last picture taken from my broken, soggy & wet camera... booo. but the picture turned out cutesy!

erica [our baby sister], hannie, ni-ni, julia

okay, that's all the time i have...now back to studying. grrrrrr

'Tis the Season!      Tuesday, December 9, 2008 -- ni-ni

I am currently listening to Brenda Lee's "Rockin' around the Christmas Tree"...and reveling in the lovely lovely season of Christmas...which is quickly coming upon us and I have yet to finish my Christmas shopping for everyone...yikes! But the decorations are slowly but surely coming up all over the house !!

Yes, we can finally light the fireplace! It's freezing outside! We have these coated pinecone and wood pieces that you can stick in the flames that make the flames come up all blue and green and indigo...courtesy of Auntie Nancy ^_^ Sweetheart. I love using them but hate seeing them dwindle away....

Mint cocoa and a good novel. These make my holidays complete....if only there were a Starbucks in my backyard....I swear I'd die of an overdose.

Today's Tidings !!      Thursday, December 4, 2008 -- ni-ni

Today definitely rivaled yesterday to the extreme. It was utterly delightful, contrasting with an opacity [in Photoshop terms] of 100%. This could be due to the fact that the only classes I had today required my artistic and playful side, rather than my assertive and academic side. Two hours each of Gym class, Yearbook class, and Chorus class. Yesterday's was a staggering AP English, AP Statistics, and then AP Government. Okay, I'll admit it...yesterday was not entirely terrible. Mr. Adams let us play "heads up seven up" that pointless and darling juvenile game where you have to guess who was the one to tap you in the dark. [okay that just sounds creepy now that I type that out].

Doris and I in Yearbook class. ahhh my Colombian darling. She has so much wit I love it. I think she deserves another appearance.

Hence, these photos above ^^. But the main item I want to bring to the eye is not Do's adorable doll eyes, but the majestic, glittering, gold and Rastafarian gift from the angel Gwen Stefani sitting uncapped upon the desk. It's the L.A.M.B. signature perfume !! If you only understood how much I worship the ground Gwen walks on, you'd understand my love for her [yet another aside from the song "I'm Just a Girl"] aromatic creation. It's perfectly musky, yet light and not overbearing like a ranky grandmother musky. I almost died when I opened the package.
Other highlights of today include the fact that I got
floored in Gym class today. Who was I to think I could go and pull the flag of a 200-something lb. guy charging right at me in flag football? I must have thought I was some type of tough cookie because what do you know....I went for it.
And so therefore the fact that I did some creepy roll on the football turf along with the BEAST and another little guy on my team who I like to call "Pepe". It was frightening. But exhilarating! A worse occasion was the fact that I went to pull another guy's flag and he did a little twirl thing and I got a handfull of well...
you know.....I think I'm going to go burn my hand now.

And Chorus class saw immense training in Christmas carols and My Fair Lady choreography practicing. I'm not actually angry...we have to "pretend" we are during this male chauvinist song that we do. I have a solo that's awkwardly high pitched and I hope I don't squeak. That'd be the worst. No, actually the worst would be forgetting the words, like my horrible Jag Idol stint last year when I completely blanked in the middle of Mariah Carey's "Miracle". Oh blast it.
On the way home today after riding the dreadful bus. Instead of wallowing in self pity over my lack of license, I like to tell myself that I'm saving a heck of a lot more gas riding it than I would in my own car. Besides, the company is darling!

This is Lloyd. He is like, one of my puzzle pieces. We just go, you know? I tell him things, he tells me things. And we laugh like crazy. Like a brother, yet not like a brother....he's just Lloyd.
And J.R. is going to absolutely MURDER me when he sees that I put this video on here:

He's actually really good if you watch him secretly !! He's very shy though...

Belated and Horrible      Tuesday, December 2, 2008 -- ni-ni

Ahhh. Something can spite me right now because I have not updated in ages. Pfffft.
Because of this...I have a load of pictures to dump yet again upon this sorry looking empty page now that a new month has started....which is technically a good thing because December is my absolute favorite month of the year....
This weekend saw a lot of errand running...grocery and home decor purchasing mostly. It was nice to just go out with my mother for the first time in a while...just us two. So we went to our favorite American shops: Trader Joe's and Pier 1 Imports.

The wine aisle in Trader Joe's is where I've had probably 70% of my funniest and best conversations with mom in all my life... we kind of get loopy in there for some reason...funny things just tend to happen. Our cart is typically filled with milk, coffee, kefir, wine, arugala, and some sort of nuts/grain. We're like people of the earth or something, I swear...it's why we go to Trader Joe's in the first place...well, at least that's why my mom goes...I go because the most beautiful boy I have ever seen in my entire life works there, stocking the shelves. He's the reason why I'm applying there in the summer. It's all for his gorgeous facial structure and patented hightop blue nikes. He dropped a container of applesauce in the aisle and I just thought it was fantastic. What the heck did I ever see in "Boris" ? Sheesh Nia, get your head out of the loony bin.
So a lowdown on how good ol' life is treating me: pretty okay. Now that college applications are as good as finished, I don't feel so bogged down by the oncoming stress. If I can just get my parents off my back about how irksome my grade for the SAT Subject Test for Physics was.... I'm sure I'd be a bit more relieved. Other than that...life is just okay. Nothing special, nothing great. Just wishing something dazzling and amazing would happen to me at the moment. [like an Edward Cullen dropping from the sky............hey, a girl could dream you know....]

I've taken to becoming a hermit in my little sister's closet. Isn't that a bit on the embarrassing side? It's quite cozy in there... it's this walk in closet kind of thing and extends to the hollow area under the stairs. I kind of feel like Harry Potter every time Dad goes thundering down the staircase in the early morning....aka.....yeah, I'm even sleeping in there now. It's really quite sad, but I like hanging out with Eri way late at night...she must feel so lonely down there!! At least the closet comes equipped with television, a game cube, and Legend of Zelda. We are total nubes and don't really know what to do with ourselves after we finish homework one weeknights....
Food report: DIKON SOUP and UDON NOODLES.

It's pretty much what I've had for dinner for the past three days...and for breakfast this morning...I swear I can't get tired of it....
Oh! And I almost forgot! For my senior class, I'm on the ballot to be voted for "Biggest Shopaholic" AND "Most Artistic"...That makes me very excited ^_^ I'd rather be known as most artistic seeing as I really hate the mall and I don't really shop a lot or I make my clothes...it just seems like it because I have quadruple the wardrobe: my closet, Hannie's closet, Erica's closet [which I sadly live in right now], and Mom's closet. Sometime's Dad's for some tee-shirts-made-into-dresses-with-belts-kind-of-thing.....I think that award might be undeserving if given to me........
