SUNDAY, MAY 31ST, 2009 HANNAH

Last Friday was my 20th birthday dinner! It was at a Chinese restaurant called P.F. Chang's, and the dress code was homecoming-theme. but not everyone did, haha but it didn't matter in the end! I was also having qualms about people not showing up because earlier in the day a couple people called/texted to say they were not coming. -__-" but no hard feelings, I understand! In the end, I had to keep asking for more chairs and I think there were about 30 people overall, which was way more than I expected! But each time someone came, it made me soo much happier. ^___^

I have so many pictures, but I'll just show a few ~

I wasn't expecting any gifts, and didnt want any gifts. I was just SUPER happy that my friends took the time out of their busy lives to come celebrate my birthday with me! But I wanted to post my gifts because they're definitely blog worthy! Thank you everyone who gave these to me!

The pink clear CUTE thing is a piggy bank! I don't want to put coins in it because the pink-ness will be gone. The little Hello Kitty figures are things that I've recently wanted to start collecting! They come in a sealed box so that you don't know which one you're going to get~ kind of like pokemon cards (haha).


this is a cute little Manju stuffed animal! gahhh i almost died when I first saw it! XD


The owl thing on the left is a Luggage Tag, which I've been wanting lately! I wanted cute luggage tags for when I go to Japan and so that I can recognize my luggage better. And there's also Hello Kitty chapstick! ^____^


The left notebook is decorated with stickers ~ it was originally plain brown, but my youngest sister decorated them. And then there's an owl notebook that matches my luggage tag! :D

WEDNESDAY, MAY 27TH, 2009 HANNAH

I feel as though I've been spending TOO MUCH lately, since I got a lot of birthday money -___-" . I really need to save for Japan! But I get sooo tempted to buy stuff! gahh. Anyways, today I got a new dress for my birthday dinner this friday! I originally bought one last week, but I decided I needed colour instead of black, so today I opted for another color. I'm not going to say what it looks like yet, but I'm sure I'll have pictures on friday!

Today I watched a movie called The Ramen Girl, starring Brittany Murphy. Simply put, it's about an American girl who gets left behind in Japan by her boyfriend and she falls in love with ramen and wants to make it. I got extremely hungry watching it so we actually stopped the movie and went out to get some ramen! ^___^ hahah. Then watched the movie when we came back.

The broth I got was Miso Soup broth, but the other choices were Salt and Soy Sauce. The soy sauce one actually tastes better, but this one was still delish!

The place we ate ramen was at a Japanese Marketplace that is actually a bookstore, grocery store, a type of sanrio/anime store, health store, etc. It's basically all of your basic needs in one big store hahah. So after eating ramen, I browsed the book store to find that old magazines were 65% off!!!! I bought the April edition of Scawaii and it came with a Rodeo Crowns mini tote bag!

The peach green tea was a must, and the other drink is a non-carbonated peach soft drink. It was basically peach flavored water. I've always wanted to try it, and it actually tastes good. After a while it got kind of too sweet for me though. They were having a special on the little mushroom chocolate things, and i LOVE those, so i bought a pack :D and the grape haichuu is my favorite flavor, and the other one is like haichuu but instead they call it puccho, and it has little gummies inside that have juice/jelly in the center!

SUNDAY, MAY 24TH, 2009 HANNAH

Thank you EVERYONE who wished me happy birthday on my blog, twitter, myspace, calls, texts, etc!! I love you all and you truly make me feel loved :D hehe! I seriously do not feel any older, but at least I'm not a teenager anymore! and...only ONE MORE YEAR until i'm 21 !! At least I turned the legal drinking age in Japan, which is only 3 months away...!! :D

I bought myself a couple birthday presents, one being a friend for my camera...a tripod! named Mr. Tripod. Clever, ne? hah, anyways I really like this tripod... it comes with good features! I originally wanted the cheap $20 dollar one, but it was sold out. I'm glad I paid an extra $10 dollars for this one though because it's a lot easier to use. If anyone is interested in the type of tripod i have, it's called Velbon CX-470. I bought it at Fry's Electronics, but I'm not sure if everyone knows what that is.

Ironically, my camera isn't mounted on it. -___-"

Then I bought something much cuuuuuter, a little cell phone holder! I couldn't resist. If you have a Daiso near you, you can buy it there! They also had a cat/lion, but it looked especially angry and that made me stray away.

This one looks angry too, and a bit evil, but it's a seal, which overrules everything and anything!

Lastly this is a new headband i HAD to have! it's huge and flowery, my favourite! (can you tell i used my tripod to take this picture? probably not HAHAH) What makes me sad is that I don't even look 20 years old, let alone 18. I keep telling myself I will be thankful for this in the future. but, until then!

TOMORROW IS MY BIRTHDAY!
SATURDAY, MAY 23RD, 2009 HANNAH

hello!! it's my 20th BIRTHDAY tomorrow!! :D :D :D i am SERIOUSLY so excited. no more teenage years! ^___^ anyways, today i saw Angels and Demons and it was SO GOOD! extremely TWISTED and suspenseful....if you read the book, i URGE you to go see it NAOOO (now) !!

so someone extremely special to me took me out for an early birthday lunch! we went to a sushi restaurant i had never been to called Sushi Deli 1. It was extremely packed, but I really liked how small the restaurant was and the atmosphere in it. too bad the service was effing lame. but anyways! i took pictures of what we ate:

these were Spicy Tuna Poppers...suuuper delish!

this was a Super Caterpillar Roll ! Caterpillar roll is my all time FAVORITE sushi roll and i like to try it at different sushi restaurants to see if there's a difference in taste! this one was good, and they added those crunchy tempura flakes on top of it along with shrimp tempura inside.

this is the San Diego Roll. I don't remember exactly what was inside, but all i know was its amazing goodness.

HELLO SUMMER VACATION!

hello! i am FINALLY OUT OF SCHOOL !!!! YAY! i've actually been out since last tuesday, but the week and weekend went by suuuuper fast. there are so many May birthdays this month, including MINE! ^_____^

so has anyone seen the new Star Trek movie!? i HAVE and i have to say that i LOVE IT! Seriously, Capt. Kirk = amazing. and for SOME ODD REASON i had a weird liking towards Spock. he's actually SUPER CUTE in real life too. *sigh* oh ya, I wish those glasses were mine. >.<

anyways, I finally managed to buy a couple new clothes for the summer. It's not much, but it's a start! These are from my work, Banana Republic. The shorts are actually kind of high, much to my dislike, but if you wear a long shirt, only the bottom peeks out and it's cute. And for some reason, when I saw the shirt, I felt like I just had to have it, even though it's something I wouldn't normally want or wear.

My birthday is coming up and since I'm having a birthday dinner, I went looking for a dress. I found one today at Forever21, but I'm not sure if I'm going to wear it for my birthday or not! It's actually kind of short, even on ME, and i'm SHORT! But it's cute nonetheless ^__^ I also like the new hot pink shopping bags! hehehe. I'm starting to like all the new floral trends.

I also bought some new hair goodies! I am LOVING the big hairbands with flowers, instead of the ordinary bows.

this gray one is from my work, and I thought it was just suuuper cute. The petals are made of silk!

 
I bought these at forever 21. I've been wanting  a black hairband with a black flower for a while, and I snagged this today! Also, I've been wanting those bow clips for a while too...I'm so happy my hair is a light brown now because before when I had black hair, all my black hair accessories would just blend in. but no more!

this is kind of random, but I also bought a pair of socks. hahaha. I wanted cute socks to work out in, and these are one of the pairs! ^__^ they're actually comfy and thick, which makes working out a little more fun. hahah

It was my friend's 20th birthday on Cinco de Mayo! I took a couple pictures, but these pictures are my pre-DSLR days ^___^ but i PROMISE that these will be the last point-and-shoot pictures for a while!

Lately I've been on a super tight budget, but i bought some stuff for my friend, a few goodies and also a Cashbook to keep track of my money !!

I think the "hi-chew" ones are american/english versions of "haichuu." Or maybe they are a different company... but nonetheless, they are super yummy! I got green apple and mango flavors. the bottom one, called puccho, has yummy little gummies inside the actual gummy! I got the dragonfruit flavor!

this is the cashbook i got! It's from our Daiso! I love all the cute little things from there. My sister got another version of this a while back.

I could no resist these stickers!!! So when i bought these stickers, I realized that I have a slight obsession with bunnies! Especially pink bunnies. They were also super cheap ^__^

these are the gifts I bought for my friend. She really liked them! I'm glad. A lot of these things come from various places including Sanrio, Daiso, Borders, etc.


and this is the gift all packaged up! The words in French say "I have an idea!" My high school French lessons were finally put into good use. ^__^

I promised I would update about my camera. well let me just say it was a nice surprise! This is probably the best gift I have ever gotten in my life. <3 So what did I do the first day I got my camera, you say? Explore of course! I am a beginner, so bear with me. haha!

here is the lovely BOX! This is THE most beautiful box ever.


here is my lovely camera! it works so well.... it's the smallest DSLR out there, and it's size is equal to the Nikon D60, which is a higher/newer version of this camera. I have 6.1 megapixels whereas the D60 has 10.2
 

this is my little bundle of happiness named Coco. a half pomeranian/chihuahua mix!


greek food, Gyros. so good that i had to eat it all.
